Use & Care Guidelines

Zodiaq is a durable and hygienic quartz surface material used for kitchen worktops, bath and shower surrounds, vanity tops and many other interior applications.

We hope these guidelines will help answer your questions on how to use and care for Zodiaq quartz surfaces.

Like all fine materials, Zodiaq responds best when handled with care and attention.

Zodiaq quartz worksurfaces are easy to maintain. The quartz crystals used in Zodiaq in combination with stain resistant polymers, results in a non-porous high gloss surface.
Because of its almost mostly quartz crystal content the surface patterns of Zodiaq may slightly differ in colour uniformity as with any natural material.
Common household spills such as wine, vinegar, tea, lemon juice, fruit or vegetable juice spills are easily cleaned and the surface can be restored to its original highly polished look.

Quartz is one of the world’s hardest materials, which is your assurance that Zodiaq worktops will not easily scratch. The use of a cutting board is recommended.

Zodiaq will withstand some exposure to standard cooking temperatures from pots/pans. To maintain surface of Zodiaq do not place hot pans directly onto the surface. A hot pad should be used instead.
Zodiaq quartz worksurfaces are resistant to most common household chemicals. If you accidentally spill household chemicals on your Zodiaq worksurface you should blot it up right away and you should rinse it with plenty of water.

Routine cleaning of Zodiaq Quartz Surfaces

Even though Zodiaq resists permanent staining when exposed to common household
liquids such as wine, vinegar, tea, coffee and lemon juice or fruits and vegetables,it is highly recommended that you wipe up food and spills as quickly. It is always easier to wipe up a spill than to have to deal with a dried-in stain. For daily cleaning of your Zodiaq quartz worksurfaces use a damp cloth and a small amount of non bleach, non abrasive liquid cleanser or a vinegar water solution. For stubborn spills, use a household vinegar cleaner with a non-abrasive cleansing pad. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a paper towel or a cloth. Repeat if necessary.

Removal of dried-in spills

Sometimes spills occur and they can dry-in on the worktop. Food containing
natural dyes like mustard, curry, etc. or grease, nail polish or paint, etc. can be removed by gently scraping away the material with a plastic scraper. Then clean the surface with a vinegar water solution or with a non abrasive cleaning pad together with a non bleach, non abrasive liquid cleanser and rinse with clean water. Dry the surface with a clean white paper
towel or white cloth.
Permanent markers or ink and some chemical solvents may cause permanent discoloration of the surface. Should these come into contact with the surface, you should wipe it up immediately and rinse with plenty of clean water. Then clean with a household vinegar cleaner.

Avoid chemicals, solvents and dyes

Chemical solvents or dyes, especially paint removers or strippers may cause permanent
damage to your Zodiaq work surface. Also keep bleach products or permanent markers away from your work surface.
If Zodiaq is accidentally exposed to any chemicals or dyes, blot up material
quickly and rinse the surface with plenty of water then dry the surface with a clean white paper towel or cloth.

Polishing Zodiaq Quartz Surfaces

Because tough Zodiaq is non-porous there is generally no need for time-consuming polishing.
Your quartz material will keep its gloss and smooth surface for years.
