Q. What is the best way to clean Staron worktops.
A. Use soap and water and wipe the surface clean. The use of ammonia based cleaners like glass cleaner are also a perfect way to give the worktop a great shine.
Q. Will some colours last longer than others.
A. Not necessarily, but light colours show any wear less and require less maintenance.
Any Staron colour should provide many years of service.
Q. I buffed out a scratch or stain with a light duty scrubbing pad, and the area is duller than the rest of the worktop. What should I do with it?
A. The finer the grit of cleaner or you use, the higher the gloss finish will be. Buff and dry with a smooth dry cloth.
Q. Can I add a Staron sink or to my existing Staron worktop?
A. This can be done, though depends on the style of sink.
Q. Will I need to choose a sink before my worktop is installed?
A. There are some common fixture sizes but we recommend thet you choose your sink and taps before your bespoke worktop is produced by the fabricator.
Q. The edge I want is not shown on the Kitchen Worktops Complete Web site. Are there other edge treatments to choose from?
A. Yes, though we have only shown the most common edges that most fabricators are capable to build.
Q. Can I place raw vegetables and meat on Staron worktops?
A. Yes you can. This is because Staron is non-porous, germs and bacteria have no edges to gather. It is best to clean the surface before you prepare food.
Q. My fabricator has left me a little piece of Staron worktop to use as a cutting board. Is it ok to use this as a chopping board, I've heard that you should not cut directly on Staron?
A. Staron makes a great cutting board. However, cutting leaves small scratches on the board that you would not want on your worktop.
Q. What are the finishes that are available in Staron worktops?
A. Staron can be finished in matte, semigloss and high-gloss finishes.
Q. Can hot pots/pans can burn Staron worktops?
A. Staron worktops are heat resistant to 212 degrees F. but, flame or high heat can potentialy damage the worksurface. To protect your worktop, use a trivet. You can also request heat rods to be installed near a stove where hot pans can be placed.
Q. What is the advantage of Staron over laminate worktops?
A. Laminates can separate over time if dampness seeps in. Staron worktops are solid and moisture cannot penetrate it.
